Interesting stuff that i found when googling for the phrase " Ours is not to reason why, but to do or die" , it was from Alfred Lord Tennyson. I remembered the phrase from Saving Private Ryan, when the squad were on their way to Neuville. Saving Private Ryan was a great movie, it got me interested in all things related to World War II.
Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote The Charge Of The Light Brigade, a poem that tells about a heroic, but disastrous cavalry charge led by Lord Cardigan during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War. more information about The Charge Of The Light Brigade you will find it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charge_of_the_Light_Brigade
The Charge Of The Light Brigade
Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Is it really been 2 months???
Hi there...really its been 2 months since my last post...mainly because of doing my assignments and preparing for my 5th semester final exam and to be honest, i did it quite badly. I don't know why but I'm really bad at test and exams, for the last exam all the things that I've read, i can't remember one bit...its true what they say..the ability to memorize fades with age. Enough of that...a lot have been going on since my last post, for one..went to Sepang F1 circuit to watch the 2008 Malaysian F1 Grand Prix with Apis and on that day Apis lost his phone, being a victim of a pickpocket. Somehow I felt kind of guilty and responsible for this tragedy mainly because i'm the one who asked him to go with me to watch the F1.
Then there were sleepless nights for the past weeks trying to complete my assignments and thank god its over for now. The highlights for the past months was the trip to Sarawak for the JCS Briefing and site visits. Me and my officemates went to JTK Office in Kuching, Kapit and Sibu. We stayed in Kuching for 2 days from monday to wednesday and then went to Sibu on wednesday night. The trip to Kapit from Sibu was awesome...we took a express boat....yup BOAT ! from the Sibu wharf to Kapit, the journey took nearly 3 hours. Because we were in Sarawak the sun were up at 6.00 am so i had to woke up at 5 am because the first boat to Kapit was at 7.30 am. The fare was rm25.00 for business class and rm 30.00 for first class and the normal class is rm 20.00. I don't know the difference between the first and bussiness class. because it looks the same to me. We arrived at Kapit at about 10.30 am and went back to Sibu at 3.15 am the last boat back to Sibu. I went back to KL on friday afternoon but the others stayed 2 more days in Kuching to do some shopping.
There were also the wedding of Salleh and Aslisa, my officemates in Melaka, because both worked in BTM, KSM most of the BTM staff were there.
Here are some pictures for the past 2 months...
