It's been a long time since i update the post....with all the assignments need to be done, i find it hard to jot down a few words in my blogs....there's a lot of things happening in the past 2 months...with the fasting month and now near the end of Raya month..this week full of invitation to Raya open houses...starting with Hamdi (UTM friend) from 1 pm then at night there's Esa open houses and on sunday at 5 Abg Zam's house....it goes on untill night and continued on monday (because monday is deepavali and its holiday).
Hari Raya was fun, we went back to Batu Pahat on the raya eve, we arrived in muar (Mom's house) just a minute before azan magrib, and we got to bebuka puasa on the last day in muar. and then about 9 pm we're off to batu pahat, because this year we're celebrating raya in Batu Pahat.
Enough about hari raya...on the 9th of October we all went to KLIA to see Abang off to Dubai, he'll be working there for the next 3 months, Kak Shidah was so sad seeing Abang about to leave for Dubai... here's some pictures on what going on....

OSX on a Dell Inspiron 1420

Here's a picture taken earlier today of a Mac OS X Leopard running on a Dell Inspiron 1420. Its booting from a portable hard drive, I'm checking whether all the hardware are compatible with the OSX before proceeding installing the OSX on that Dell. Unfortunately...that version (distro) of OSX, kalaway 10.5.2 are not that compatible with that dell, the wifi/ethernet ain't running, there's no sound..but the graphic were smooth..there is no jerkyness when moving the windows across the screen. Reading on an installation guide from wiki.osx86project.org...it did mention that inspiron 1420 works well with Leo4Allv3 10.5.2....with some minor teaks and patch need to be done before OSX runs smoothly on that type of machines...before anything could be done..firstly, i need to get a hold of a copy of Mac OSX installation disk....and for that, i need to torrent it....maybe tommorow it would be finised downloading...then i need the help of Toriq to install it....the installation needs some wicked scripting and tweaks that only a mac user know how....Owh..did i forget to mention that Dell is mine?....yup...just came by courier yesterday...i actually ordered it online last week on monday...the last day of pc fair...they have a sweet deal for that last day.....they throw in 2GB ram and 250 GB HDD for the price of rm 2400++. The decision to buy a laptop came when we find it hard to do my assignments, labs and lily presentations without our own laptops...It comes with windows vista home basic, a intel core 2 duo T5750 2 GHz, 2 Gb Ram, 250 Gb HDD and other things like bluetooth and sd card reader here's a few pictures of the notebook....

the colour is ruby red, something different from a normal black colour laptops

when opened....

Running on Vista Home Basic for now....i'll to make it a dual boot...

Well...can't wait for the OSX to finish downloading...need to used OSX leopard...trying something different for a change.....

08.08.08

It's 08.08.08, thought i post something before the day ends...its a historical date...its the number that the Chinese thought would bring good fortune..and the the Chinese believe it means rich..so if you are rich and drive a big ass car...you should have number 8 as your number plate, preferably 8888....No wonder the Beijing Olympics is today...i wonder how hard they persuade the Olympics committee to pick them to the 2008 Olympics....

Other historical moment is Azly (my office mate) nikah, somewhere in Jitra, Kedah....people loves to do weddings on certain dates....and 08.08.08 is the most sort out dates to do weddings.... I my self loves 07.07.07..... i love numbers involing 7....it's not my lucky number and it never brings me luck but i just like the number 7....

ok....i need to get ready to go to Su's house..need to visit Pak Jang..he'll be doing an angiogram tomorrow...so i thought might as well see how is he doing....Chow...

Say it ain't so

Add a new page element on this blog just now....Videos from YouTube...Its by Weezer , Say it ain't so from the The Blue Album... released in 1994, it was called the blue album because it has no title..so people refer it to blue album because the colour of the album was blue....

I remember the first time i heard it, it was back in 1995, at that time i was at Kolej Mara Banting, studying A-levels Accounting, back then i thought i would be an accountant one day... and along the way i realized that accountancy was not my thing...i could never pulled it off..and got interested in computers instead..and the rest is history... Anyway back to the story... a friend of mine back then by the name of Hafiz ( He is now an Engineer somewhere in JB) introduced me to Weezer and the blue album...and saw my first music video of Buddy Holy on his laptop.... I was so amazed on how a video can be played on a laptop...back then the computer was not that hi-tech... intel pentium 75 Mhz, 8mb of ram, 2mb of vga, 2GB of hardisk space and a sound blaster sound card and you good to go ( that spec was our house first pc..and the pc are still there in Muar and i bet i can get it working again...)

The other day when i was browsing through YouTube, i found videos from Weezer, and it got me reminisence the good old days...back in 1995..back then i was young..eager to explore new things and i was in love....hence it got me changing the title of this blog to We're Going To Party Like Its 1995 !!!...

Ahh...what a good year that was...all i have from that year was memories and experience...my A-Level went up in smoke, and i burried my dreams to be and accountant somewhere in the Kolej MARA Banting grounds....but i still have Hafiz's Blue Album cassette somewhere in Muar ( Sorry Apis..i know you were furious when couldn't find the cassette...it was me who took it... muahahahaha)

Bored Out Of My Skull 2/ Dieting

I'm bored like hell...there is nothing to do...no job or what so ever...and furthermore I'm hungry like hell...todays breakfast consist of a Hi-5 chocolate bun and plain water. Wonder why a sudden change in breakfast rather than the normal rm 1.20 nasi lemak on the side of the road in Jenderam or Lily's Nasi Goreng or Mee Hoon...sadly to say...i'm on a diet... I've bitching about my weight for quite some time now....my weight have been steadily increasing since i'd stopped smoking about 2 years ago... i'm quite worried about my weight, because my feet starts to hurt when i climbed the stairs and i'm easily out of breath...so i thought..i have to start somewhere.... so officially yesterday i set out on my journey on dieting.... if i can see any progrees let say i lost a kilo this week...i can say the diet is working...

I was amazed by NoktahHitam, in one of his post in his blog, he says that the was able to loose 16kg in a month by dieting...so what the hell...if i'm able to loose only 5 kg in a month than it is surely a success...loosing weight is much much harder than gaining them... My biggest problems is rice... as long as i remembered..i have to have at a least a meal with rice....and i ate them a lot...usually three plates of rice whether for lunch, dinner or breakfast(in a form of nasi lemak, nasi berlauk, nasi dagang, nasi kerabu)... so the hardest thing for me is #1..refraining myself from eating a lot...#2..Getting through the day without nasi... i know if i'm able to do this for at least 2 - 4 weeks ...my body will get used of having little food.. the uncontrolable hunger and headache will stop.... i guess....

For now....i'll be having this piece of roti arab for lunch....oo man this hunger is killing me....

When i got home...at about 7 pm, i connected my modem to my phone line....the dsl lights starts blinking slowly...it was a sign that there's no dsl connection.....but i waited some more....and suddenly the lights starts blinking rapidly and and stayed on lit...

Then i start dialing to streamyx using my computer...dialling....validating username and password...registering your computer to the network....You are connected to the Internet.....Walla....and i'm now online...connected to rest of the world ...using the crapiest dsl connection that TM can offer...

Took a few pictures of my new computer room an few others stuff...

The new Computer room...same arrangements

The modem that give me hope....

All the Gundams are still in the box...need to put the shelf...the Unicorn Gundam are still not assemble...no time maaa...

Aisyah on the swing in the playground near the house

Akim and his unphotogenic face...everytime i took a picture of him..it came out funny/bad

Bored Out Of My Skull

Yosh...its 10.40 am...and i'm bored as hell...its been like this for the past 2-3 weeks because i have nothing to do. Usually my immediate officer will give me some sort of report to generate and usually by request of the JTK (Jabatan Tenaga Kerja) Officers, but lately they have not been any request, its that time in a year that nobody needs a report. But when its the end of the year..the request for reports is overwhelming. Today i start my day by eating nasi lemak that i bought on the side of the road on my way to work. The nasi lemak was rm 1.20, a 20 sen increase because of the price of rice had gone up. I remmeber the day that nasi lemak bungkus was only 20 sen, that was what nearly 20 years ago....and the best nasi lemak bungkus that i've tasted was nasi lemak Pak Lan. Nobody can challenge his nasi lemak bungkus at that time...and it was only for 20 sen. That was the good old days. After having nasi lemak with some kuih, i had my daily dose of conspiracy stories from cursing malay and chedet.com....they have interesting stories over there...do check out their blog sometimes....then a round of biliards in a form of Bankshot Billiard Deluxe....and now i'm writing this...later i'm going to fetch mom from putrajaya erl, she'll be staying at my house tonight and early tommorow morning, we're off to Muar...to the Pejabat Kadi...my mom wants to report about her problems....i'll tell you the details another day....

Move It ! Move It !

Finally, the process of moving to the new house was completed last Saturday, my body is still aching from the lifting and carrying all those big stuff from in the old house, to the lorry and from the lorry to the new house. Thank god for Bangdi (Lily's brother ) and Apis were there to help with the moving. I'm very grateful for their help. The problem starts when the movers that were called a few days back failed to show up at 9 0'clock as agreed, the guy said that he don't have people to help with the moving and the earliest he can be there was 11 am. Later i called another driver and he said that he can find guys to help with the moving. And then i called the first guy to cancel...and then he offered me with an even lower price and the he said that he can be there at my house another half and hour. The time was 9.30 am and untill 12 pm the lorry still have not arrived. At the last resort we called back again the second guy and he said he can be there at 3 pm. And the lorry arrived at nearly 4 pm and we start hauling the stuff and finished compleatly moved all the stuff at about 5.30 pm. The rest of the day and Sunday, we unpacked all of the stuff and arrange it. No picture available...because with all of the problems and so many things to do.. i totaly forgot to take pictures....maybe next time i'll show you our new home....

The Charge Of The Light Brigade

Interesting stuff that i found when googling for the phrase " Ours is not to reason why, but to do or die" , it was from Alfred Lord Tennyson. I remembered the phrase from Saving Private Ryan, when the squad were on their way to Neuville. Saving Private Ryan was a great movie, it got me interested in all things related to World War II.
Alfred Lord Tennyson wrote The Charge Of The Light Brigade, a poem that tells about
a heroic, but disastrous cavalry charge led by Lord Cardigan during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War. more information about The Charge Of The Light Brigade you will find it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charge_of_the_Light_Brigade

The Charge Of The Light Brigade

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

"Forward, the Light Brigade!"
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldier knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Their's but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turn'd in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Is it really been 2 months???

Hi there...really its been 2 months since my last post...mainly because of doing my assignments and preparing for my 5th semester final exam and to be honest, i did it quite badly. I don't know why but I'm really bad at test and exams, for the last exam all the things that I've read, i can't remember one bit...its true what they say..the ability to memorize fades with age. Enough of that...a lot have been going on since my last post, for one..went to Sepang F1 circuit to watch the 2008 Malaysian F1 Grand Prix with Apis and on that day Apis lost his phone, being a victim of a pickpocket. Somehow I felt kind of guilty and responsible for this tragedy mainly because i'm the one who asked him to go with me to watch the F1.
Then there were sleepless nights for the past weeks trying to complete my assignments and thank god its over for now. The highlights for the past months was the trip to Sarawak for the JCS Briefing and site visits. Me and my officemates went to JTK Office in Kuching, Kapit and Sibu. We stayed in Kuching for 2 days from monday to wednesday and then went to Sibu on wednesday night. The trip to Kapit from Sibu was awesome...we took a express boat....yup BOAT ! from the Sibu wharf to Kapit, the journey took nearly 3 hours. Because we were in Sarawak the sun were up at 6.00 am so i had to woke up at 5 am because the first boat to Kapit was at 7.30 am. The fare was rm25.00 for business class and rm 30.00 for first class and the normal class is rm 20.00. I don't know the difference between the first and bussiness class. because it looks the same to me. We arrived at Kapit at about 10.30 am and went back to Sibu at 3.15 am the last boat back to Sibu. I went back to KL on friday afternoon but the others stayed 2 more days in Kuching to do some shopping.
There were also the wedding of Salleh and Aslisa, my officemates in Melaka, because both worked in BTM, KSM most of the BTM staff were there.
Here are some pictures for the past 2 months...

Stories for 3 weeks

Its been nearly three weeks since my last post....a lot have been happening around me...for one.. Man's weeding in Batang Kali...then the troubles with the Avanza skirting...thirdly send my Avanza for its first service ( yup ! you guess it...1000 km in under one week !!!)..then went back to johor to cast our votes...lily in Batu Pahat and for myself in Muar (Bandar Maharani- Sekolah Sri Muar) and attended majlis tahlil at rumah Pak Jang in line with Man's Weeding on Sunday and the highlights of the week was Man's Weeding and on top of that the shocking defeat of BN in five states in the 12th election...Kelatan, Kedah, Penang, Perak and Selangor...a lesson for BN for being arrogant and complacent( a word i learned from Pak Uda)....For this whole week people (including myself) cant stop talking about the recent elections...but enough of that..you can read all about it in the newspapers or if you want to read the stories i suggest you read them in the blogs ( Malaysia-today or Malaysiakini) not that fabricated stories you read in the papers or in the BN controlled media....heres are some pictures...

Removing the rear skirting of my Avanza because the exhaust pipe blows directly to the skirting making it melts and its because of faulty design and the failure of the shop to inform me of the situation...after they fitted the skirting i went back to the office and to my horror, found out that the newly fitted rear skirting had been burnt and melts..went back to the shop 4 days after and asked the shop to replace it....need to do some modifications with the exhaust pipe

At the exhaust shop...modding the exhaust pipe..the pipe need to be bent and welded with a new muffler so it can match the hole in the skirting ...cost me about rm 70.00...the guy using a plasma torch..way cooler than a normal blowtorch...how it works?....beats me...

At the Rumah Besanggah having our breakfast of nasi lemak bungkus...and having it while standing.

At the masjid...where the Pak Imam do his ceramah on being a husband and how to take care of a family..lasted for 30-45 minutes...and then came the nikah part...Man got it right on the first try...well done...( same as myself )

On the way to the bride's house...btw Man's wife is Liza..don't know her full name

Arrival of the Bride and Groom....

Newest addition to the Atok Yem's family...Atie's son...his name is something Daniel/Danish Something...can't remember his full name...he really looks like his mom....

Taking pictures of Ayem and Apis taking the pictures of Man and Liza on the pelamin.

Gift opening...seen here Man holding a gift from me and the family..a table lamp bought at ikea...

Pretty much all the things happening in the last 3 weeks...things that i remember at this time..takes me about 3 hours to post these pictures....kind of tired...tomorrow have to wake up early....need to follow lily to the market...and at mid day..go to klia to fetch linda...arriving from London....don't know why she came back....maybe bored or something...i'll keep you posted next time....
